Coolum at the Beach

There's so much to recommend in this resort: the location is great (not perfectly on the beach, but this is the Sunny Coast), the facilities and above all, the staff. The main pool is heated, which is fantastic and large enough to be both social with other guests while avoiding the noisy ones. The BBQ facilities are great. And the grounds are really well maintained. But, it's getting old and in need of some renovations. There's a dramatic smell of mould in the car park that permeates up to the villas. The carpet in the apartment was threadbare. The beds were uncomfortable. The airconditioning leaked. Nothing serious but a bit of a refresh would transform the place. Considering that we're still feeling the effects of COVID, the resort did well to survive and I get that we're not fully back to normal yet. But please, resort managers, keep investing to bring it back to its former glory!

We booked a 3 bed apartment for Xmas with family and was super impressed with the resort. Over the last 35 years I have stayed at many resorts in over 50 countries and would rate this in the top 10 for sure. Great location, peaceful, spacious apartment, secure parking and good set up. We will be back. Thanks for an awesome experience.

We booked a last minute two-night stay here blindly and were very pleasantly surprised! First off, one of the ladies at reception was so very very lovely (the older of the two blonde ladies who were greeting the Friday we checked in). She was warm and just so helpful. The unit was a three bedroom modern unit facing the beach motorway. It was huge, very well maintained and appointed, and cleaned well! Some of the units are owned and the owners were also very friendly and kind. Overall, just was a delightful experience and we would definitely come again. Thank you!!!

We had previously stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment for a weekend a few months back and absolutely loved it, the room was modern lovely & clean, which is why we chose to book again for our family holiday returning last week. This time we stayed for 5 nights and in a 2 bedroom apartment again ( only doors down from the previous one we stayed in) however we were very disappointed with the room this time. It was no where near the same standard as the previous room we stayed in - dated, stains on the carpet, marks on walls, stained window coverings, grime on cupboard handles, the screen door to the balcony did not shut properly and a shelf was missing in the bathroom, plus it did not feel very clean at all. I did speak to reception on day two about my concerns and queried the vast difference in rooms - Reception said they would see what they could do about changing us rooms or getting someone to come and clean it and would get back to me, I did not hear anything back at all, which I also found quite disappointing. We really do love the location and pools are great, but didn't realise there is such a difference in standard in some of the apartments -especially when you book the same type of apartment I would expect a similar level, this one was not luxury standard at all (like the website states they are) and we were left feeling underwhelmed with our stay.
